The 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) kicked off in Beijing, China on July 16, 2025. He Lifeng, Chinese Vice Premier and Member of the 20th CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
He Lifeng said that President Xi Jinping attaches great importance to the openness and cooperation of global industrial and supply chains, stressing that win-win development can only be achieved through openness and cooperation. As an integral link in global industrial and supply chains, China has consistently ensured the stable operation of global industrial and supply chains with concrete actions and has contributed to deepening global industrial and supply chain cooperation and promoting world economic recovery.
He Lifeng emphasized that China will adhere to the principles of division of labor and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness. Acting as a promoter of mutual benefits and win-win outcomes in global industrial and supply chains, China will advance the digital, intelligent and green transformation and upgrading of global industrial and supply chains.
The opening ceremony featured addresses by Paul Shipokosa Mashatile, Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, Ekachat Seetavorarat, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang, John Denton, Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Commerce, Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles KCMG LVO, Chair of the China-Britain Business Council, and Liao Lin, Chairman of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. Over 1,100 political, business, and academic leaders from more than 100 countries, regions and international organizations attended.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). Ren introduced three highlights of this year’s CISCE, namely growing international participation, better industrial and supply chains utility, and elevated attention to innovation. He welcomed global business leaders to uphold the WTO-centered global trade system through joint efforts and constructive actions. The CCPIT will remain fully committed to serving Chinese and foreign enterprises, unswervingly ensure that the industrial and supply chains are public goods in nature, and make greater contributions to promoting the construction of an open world economy and a community with a shared future for mankind.
The 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo Beijing Initiative was launched jointly by the CCPIT and global business representatives at the opening ceremony.
Themed “Connecting the World for a Shared Future”, the 2025 CISCE is hosted by CCPIT from July 16 to 20. Five international organizations – UN Conference on Trade and Development, UN Commission on International Trade Law, World Intellectual Property Organization, International Trade Center and International Chamber of Commerce – have joined as supporters. Thailand serves as the Guest Country of Honor of the Expo, with Shandong and Guangdong as the Guest Provinces of Honor. The exhibition covers 6 key industrial chains and 1 exhibition area: Advanced Manufacturing Chain, Clean Energy Chain, Smart Vehicle Chain, Digital Technology Chain, Healthy Life Chain, Green Agriculture Chain and Supply Chain Service Area. Companies and institutions from 75 countries and regions showcase new technologies, products and services from the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors along the industrial and supply chains, with foreign exhibitors comprising 35% of the total participation.
